Leadership is not about the title—it’s about impact. Every team needs multiple leaders, not just the ones wearing the armband. Some of the most influential players are those who lead by example, from the middle or the margins.

Ways to lead from anywhere:

  • Be the best communicator: Give clear direction and encouragement in training and matches.

  • Support struggling teammates: Offer encouragement, guidance, or simply listen.

  • Model the standard: Consistently show effort, humility, and accountability.

  • Serve the team quietly: Help with set-up, include new players, and protect the culture.

For coaches: Acknowledge and celebrate leadership moments from non-captains. Build a team where leadership is everyone’s responsibility.
